Environment Bromley (EnBro) is a voluntary unincorporated organisation with the aims of conserving and interpreting the natural and man made environment of the London Borough of Bromley and adjacent areas. All the Darent Days walks are part of the EnBro public walks schedule.
The current EnBro public walks programme is available both at http://www.enbro.org.uk/ and free on green paper in all Bromley Public Libraries during March, June, September and December, for the following three months’ walks.
This year we will be repeating Ralph Palfrey’s Darent Days walk series first walked in 2006. Unfortunately, Ralph is now unable to lead the walks in person, and they will be led by some of his walking companions.
The ten walks, each 8-10 miles in length, follow as closely as practicable (without needing waders!) the courses of the various waterways of the Darent catchment, which reach the Thames estuary through Dartford Creek. Each walk will be repeated on the following Saturday, allowing the full stage to be covered in two shorter stages if so wished.
We are producing a Darent Days 2016 information pack, which includes route notes, 1:20,000 scale route maps for each of the ten walks, public transport details, etc. Copies will be available at our AGM and during each walk for £3.00, and the pack will also be available for downloading online at this site.

This website will contain details of all Ralph Palfrey’s long distance walks including Darent Days.
The Darent Days are a series of ten walks totalling about 82 miles to follow as closely as practicable (without needing waders!) the courses of the various waterways whose contents reach the Thames estuary through Dartford Creek. There is a separate route description for each of the ten walks in the route. The public inauguration of these walks was in 2006 and it is being repeated in 2016 every Saturday between May and September. Each walk will include a picnic lunch stop and allow for the full stage to be covered in two shorter stages over the first and second dates if wished. The route descriptions will be available on this site before May 2016.
