First Week of Stage 4

Last Saturday, thirty intrepid walkers set off from Sevenoaks in the heat. It was certainly a scorcher! Many thanks for the pictures below from our expert photographer.

Walk Instructions for Stage 5, 6 and 7 Now Available

The information sheets for Stage 5, 6 and 7 of The Hastings Line 2017 have now been uploaded. there are no changes to the other files.

For best results, use high quality printing and make sure the scaling is 100% – do not fit to printer margins or the map scales will shrink. Inkjet ink is likely to run if it gets damp – make photocopies if necessary.

Stage 2 Complete

After some lovely walks on the 20th and 27th May the second stage of The Hastings Line 2017 is complete. There were 45 walkers setting off from Hither Green spread over the two weeks.

The information sheets for Stage 3 and 4 of The Hastings Line 2017 have now been uploaded as well as some small changes to the front page and travel information. The updated printed information pack will be available on the walk  (Stage 2 Hither Green to Chelsfield) and later walks.

The Hastings Line 2017 travel information

To simplify the information sheets, the travel timetables for The Hastings Line 2017 set of walks has been compiled separately.  See the link below  although with all the engineering work this Summer you are advised to check train times before travel with http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ or Tel 03457 48 49 50.

For stages 3 to 9, in case of delayed trains, we will wait for the arrival of the train which was due to arrive nearest the published start time.

The Hastings Line 2017 travel information

Get Ready for The Hastings Line 2017

The Hastings Line will be a series of nine walks on Saturdays through the Summer from Charing Cross to Hastings seafront going through all stations on the connecting line. Each walk will be 7 to 10 miles covering a total of 77 miles by the end. Each walk can be completed in two shorter stages if preferred.

A Hastings Line 2017 information pack, which includes route notes and 1:20,000 scale route maps for each of the nine walks will be available during each walk for £2.00. Copies of the information pack may be downloaded from this website as well as copies of the information for each walk. See the menu item above or the link below:

The Hastings Line 2017

With the regular engineering works on the South Eastern railway network every weekend it is difficult to give the public transport details too far in advance. The details of the transport arrangements for each walk will be shown on this website a week before each walk.

The first walk is on the 6th May from Charing Cross to Hither Green station.
